The most creative and moving Cirque du Soleil show comes to Gran Canaria

The BAZZAR show is inspired by the origins and legacy of Cirque du Soleil and opens in October 2024 in Gran Canaria.

A merry and colourful troupe of acrobats, dancers and musicians come together on this occasion to create a unique universe where fantasy runs wild. A place where the unexpected is possible; a troupe of artists who imagine, build and rebuild marvellous scenes in an artistic and acrobatic game. All this can be summed up in just one word, BAZZAR.

Roque Nublo

Gran Canaria’s secret artist

At once familiar and yet unprecedented, Gran Canaria’s nature has painted an inspiring work of art on a blank canvas.

When nobody is looking, the dunes shift stealthily and share their secrets with the wind and the ocean in their whispering language. The silent sea of sand in Maspalomas has made the most of this hiatus to rewrite itself and get back to its roots. It only took a couple of days for the breeze to erase the last footprints on the golden sheen of the great sand bank in the south of Gran Canaria and restore its appearance from more than half a century ago.

Gran Canaria: travel in your mind’s eye to the island that awaits you

A magical trip taking you right to the heart of the island of Gran Canaria without ever leaving your living room #stayathomesavelives.

Beyond your windows, balconies and walls, the landscape of the future can still be glimpsed. The light that shines through your windows is also a reflection of life with an ever-beating heart. And in some places, it’s beating particularly strongly. Do you know where? Just look out of the window. Or close your eyes and set off on a voyage in your mind’s eye to Gran Canaria, the island that awaits you. The adventure is starting right now, in your home, right on the next line...

Santa Catalina hotel

Santa Catalina hotel, the legend goes on

Restoration of the emblematic Santa Catalina hotel in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is writing a new page in its history.

Gregory Peck took refuge there after playing Captain Ahab, shooting scenes from ‘Moby Dick’ on the Las Canteras beach, under the watchful eye of director John Huston. The hundred-year-old memories in its rooms also conjure up smoke from Winston Churchill’s cigars, echoes of the voice of the soprano Maria Callas, the smouldering gaze of Ava Gardner and the dreamy although somewhat distracted look of Agatha Christie, probably because a mystery novel was always brewing in her head, even while she relaxed by the Atlantic in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Gran Canaria, setting a course for the future in 2020

Gran Canaria is setting sail for 2020 with an offer that matches quantity with amazing quality.

Imagine a boat, the name Gran Canaria is painted on the hull. Close your eyes and feel the breeze on your face. This breeze makes the seagulls sway on the horizon and is gently blowing in the new year. This breeze also brings the winter migration birds, seeking the island’s warm embrace year after year. They appear and disappear as if by magic, although they always leave an invisible feeling of hope behind them.
