Description

The Museum of History and Traditions in Tejeda is located in some of the most unique buildings in the municipality.
Restored by a stonework school workshop, it conserves all the structural and decorative elements normally associated with a Traditional Canary House. For this reason it has been the ideal place to be chosen by the locals from Tejeda to show off their history and way of life.
Through its different modules you can get to learn about its prehistory age, the Spanish Conquest process, the traditional rural trades of the inhabitants, as well as checking out the extraordinary quality of the farm products of the surrounding area.
In the museum you can have a look at a number of curious things such as a bedroom ceiling of Tilla de Pino de Tea.
You can also enjoy a remodeled recreation of an ancient Oil and Vinegar store, plus the restoration of the former hay barn which has been converted into the audiovisual room, where you can sit back and watch a documentary all about the history of this unique and beautiful town.
