This element really stands out on the landscape, it dominates and gives character to the area. It is an extremely unique natural formation of great scientific interest. Aside from these aesthetic values it is also of notable importance culturally due to the presence of petroglyphs (rock carvings) at Lomo de Los Letreros that date back to pre-Hispanic times.
