Due to its characteristics, this area plays an important role in soil protection and aquifer replenishment. Various ravines of great geomorphological interest and with beautiful landscapes run southwards along the park. The pine forest located in its peaks forms a well-preserved habitat with good bird populations and it is now included in the EU?s network of Special Protection Areas of wild birds. Also of considerable interest are some of the Euphorbia communities with Canary Island Cactus Spurge and Common Canary Spurge and certain aquatic habitats. Endangered species of flora and fauna are found right across the entire area as are elements of scientific interest.
