This reserve includes examples of Gran Canaria´s endangered and unique habitats, such as a redoubt for laurel forest and some plants that grow in freshwater. There are various endangered species to be found amongst the flora here, including different types of laurel and abundant endemic species in general. The abundance of fossil remains that are found in various different parts of the ravine flanks are also of great significance. The spectacular stretch of ravine is also of great interest for its great beauty and scenic interest.
