The municipality of Arucas is situated on the north coast of the island, 12 kilometres from the capital, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
To get to the city, visitors should take the Northern Road GC-2 and follow the coast to the turn off, where signs will tell you how to get to the city centre (GC-20). This is an easy trip along a good dual carriageway, so the journey from Las Palmas can be done in approximately 15 minutes.
Should you choose to use public transport, you should go to the Main Bus Station in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and take one of the three direct buses to Arucas. bus number 205 leaves every half tour throughout the day, reaching Arucas via the Barranco de Tenoya gully. bus number 206 also leaves every hour and the route goes through the area of Bañaderos. Finally, you can choose bus number 210 to Arucas, passing through the district of Cardones.
