To get to the municipality of Santa Lucía from the capital of the island, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, visitors need to go south on the motorway Autopista GC-1. It is an easy twenty-minute journey to the lower area of the municipality. However, visitors who wish to go to the historic centre of Santa Lucía must turn off in Vecindario and take the road to Los Cuchillos GC-65, which is a little winding. Alternatively, the municipality can also be reached by passing through the municipality of Agüimes, through Temisas.
To get to the coastal area of the municipality by public transport visitors need to go to the Bus Station (Estación de Guaguas) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and take line 01 which goes to Mogán but has several stops in the municipality of Santa Lucía.
To go directly to Vecindario, the most cosmopolitan area of the municipality, you can take line 08 from the Intercambiador bus stops in Santa Catalina Park in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. There is also a bus every hour from 7.30 a.m on weekdays.
Line 34 from Vecindario to Temisas and San Bartolomé, connects the centre of Santa Lucía with the coastal area.
