The municipality of Teror is located in the eastern – central area of the island of Gran Canaria approximately 20 kilometres from the capital, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
There are three routes to choose from to get to Teror. The first of these, considered the most scenic route, is the Terror road (Carretera de Teror GC-21). This route can be taken from the ring road Circunvalación de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with a turnoff at the Teror road, a winding road of approximately 20 kilometres which can be travelled in about 45 minutes.
The second option is to leave the capital of the island on the northern road Carretera del Norte GC-43, which follows the coast, and take the turn off to the municipality of Arucas, go through the town of Arucas and arrive in Teror after a journey of a further 21 kilometres; this road is easier to drive, which means that the journey can be made in less time (around 35 minutes).
The final option is to take the central road and on arriving in the municipality of San Mateo take the road GC-42 that leads to the town of Teror, 40 kilometres away.
Visitors who wish to use public transport will need to go to the Bus Station (Estación de Guaguas) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and take bus number 216, which goes directly to Teror on the municipal road. There are buses for Teror departing continually on working days, from early in the morning until late at night, approximately every half hour.
