Hangar 37

Under a warming sun stand a number of military vehicles, a plane, a boat, and a royal tank. But we are not looking at a war scene, quite the opposite. Here people come along to play and leave their stress behind. Hangar 37 is Europe’s top battle simulation site, and just a stone’s throw away too, at the south of Gran Canaria. Painstaking work has gone into 10,000 square metres of decorations, set out over several levels, featuring basements, tunnels and trenches, literally submerging players into another dimension, where fun is the true winner.

Hangar 37

Let’s make something clear from the start. Hangar 37 is not just a simple ‘paintball’ playground, so get that out of your head. The advanced concept with which this theme park has been developed, and the extraordinary quality of its facilities and the replica materials it has designed all make Hangar 37 an unbeatable experience. Participants fight in a completely friendly and painless fashion together with other users, just as if they were connected up to a games console, in this case doing it for real and doing exercise at the same time.

Hangar 37 is based on the airsoft system, a game style similar to paintball in which the ‘weapons’ (which the company calls replicas because they are life-like imitations of the real thing) shoot tiny-sized plastic balls. Players go into battle completely equipped and protected, with materials that are handed out to them at the start when you buy your ticket, just like you would have a key for a locker when you go into a dressing room. From this moment on, you just need to keep a clear head and aim well.

Hangar 37

Hangar 37 has also implemented an innovative participation system, in which you don’t need to reserve your place or go with a minimum group of players. On arrival, you can join in with the players who are already playing in one of the existing teams. There is a new game or mission every ten minutes, meaning you can join in with the rest of the players at any time. And the best thing of all is that there is no limit to the games you can play.

Alongside the main play area, facilities also include a shooting bay measuring over 25 metres in length equipped with electronic targets that emit sounds and change their colour when hit.

Hangar 37

The shop stocks replicas of airsoft weapons, balls, gases, uniforms of all kinds, helmets, protective glasses, boots, plus accessories for your replica gun and its corresponding replacement parts. Hangar 37 has everything you will ever need.

Meanwhile at the bar, there are a wide range of menus on offer so you can build your strength back up. You can eat in drink inside the bar –which features a large window looking out over the play area and also outside- or on large covered terraces with stunning views over the indoor decor and also the Atlantic. You can also book your barbecues here!

Hangar 37

The battle is the most exciting, bloodless, sunlit and entertaining on of its kind in Europe and is about to start. Fancy joining in?
